AN OFFICE IN MOTION

An inspiring work environment where people and technology reinforce each other

Inspired by Vestas wind turbines, which are always in motion, OCS+ designed a working environment that reflects this. Flexible in use, organic elements, and future-oriented.

Vestas, a manufacturer of wind turbines and originally a Danish company, chose a new home in the iconic Landmark in Arnhem. The move to a smaller location offered the opportunity to create an office that moves with the organization and brings its people back together. Strictly in line with the international Vestas guidelines, but also with room for creativity, the result is a high-tech, clean, but also warm working environment. Using Activity Based Working, an environment has been created that is suitable for every Vestas activity.

The office in Arnhem shows what is possible when you move within boundaries. A working environment that is both high-tech and warm, strictly in line with international guidelines, but with a touch of OCS+’s own unique style. Vestas Arnhem has become an example project within the organization and marks the beginning of a sustainable collaboration. OCS+ will also be shaping this vision for other locations: working environments that move with their people.

Movement was the starting point. Just like Vestas wind turbines, this office is designed to be in a state of continuous development. From the social zone with reception and work café, the office unfolds into focus and collaboration areas, where silence and dynamism alternate. Flexible zones, which use movable curtains to allow spaces to effortlessly adapt to the needs of the moment, ensure that the office is not only functional but also future-proof.

Acoustic walls made of cork and curtains add soft movement, tranquility, and warmth. The Night Sky colors from the Vestas guidelines form the anchor and have been translated in a unique way by OCS+. This creates an environment that balances technology and homeliness.

On the 6th floor of the iconic Landmark in Arnhem, we have created a completely new working environment covering 1,033 m²: walls, floors, cabling, server room, signage, and lighting have all been taken care of from start to finish. Various custom-made furniture items were designed, manufactured, and installed, including the reception desk with advanced integrated technology and IT. The work café also received unique custom-made furniture that subtly references Vestas' wind turbines. The rounded shapes in the tabletop reflect movement and aerodynamics. The furniture serves as a central meeting point, but at the same time separates the zones through an open cabinet construction with glass views to the reception area. Along the entrance, a 12-meter-long LED line guides visitors to the heart of the office, also subtly representing movement and direction.
